Agilent Technologies Presents Design and Test Solutions for Mobile Communications at Mobile World Congress 2014

High-capacity test capabilities to address state-of-the-art testing in R&D and manufacturing

Agilent Technologies Inc. has presented its latest design and test solutions for mobile equipment designed to address challenges that LTE, LTE-A and 11GPP versions 12 and 3 present for current and future test technologies at the Mobile World Congress that is held from February 24 to 27 in Barcelona (Spain).

Design and test solutions emphasize higher capacity features needed to address increased peak data rates through various technologies including carrier aggregation, enhanced use of multi-antenna techniques, and enhanced uplink for R&D and manufacturing of next-generation mobile devices.

“Even as the LTE and LTE-Advanced protocols are deployed, work is already underway on its successor, 5G,” said Benoit Neel, Agilent's vice president and general manager of EMEA field operations. “As we prepare to become Keysight Technologies and further separate from Agilent later this year, the need for high-speed connectivity will become increasingly important in the face of 5G networks. We strive to deliver the design and test solutions that help create that environment where everything is always connected from anywhere.”

Agilent also exhibited its UXM E7515A Mobile Device Test Set, a highly integrated signaling test set designed for RF and functional design validation in the 4G era and beyond. The UXM offers a wide range of features that enable testing of the latest mobile device designs, achieving LTE-Advanced Category 6 now, and addressing increasingly complex test cases in the future. Today, the integration of all that surrounds mobile communications includes advanced automotive systems comprised of high-speed digital, millimeter wave, mobile, and RF technologies. 2/3/4G mobile, 802.11p Wireless Access in Vehicular Environments (WAVE), Bluetooth® Low Energy and Near Field Communication (NFC) technologies are currently challenging in the field of communications testing and components for the automotive sector. The technology offers enormous advantages, such as blind spot detection, emergency braking and protection against real collisions; all of which help drivers avoid potential hazards and accidents, but pose significant design and test challenges for automotive and other companies involved in this environment. As the leader in design and test equipment for high-speed digital, RF, mobile communications, and millimeter wave devices, Agilent offers a broad and powerful range of high-performance automotive serial bus test solutions designed for both testing R&D as well as manufacturing and compliance with specifications. They include oscilloscopes, signal generators, signal analyzers, and comprehensive testers for verification of RF and mobile devices.
