High current, high voltage, and high performance applications take advantage of Microchip's family of LDO voltage regulators

Microchip announces the MCP1755 and MCP1755S families of high-performance, high-input-voltage, high-output-current CMOS LDO (Low-Dropout) voltage regulators. These LDOs accept a wide range of input voltages from 3,6-16V and provide an output current of 300mA with output voltages of 1,8-5,5V for a consumption of only 68µA of quiescent current ( typical).

In addition, the MCP1755/1755S LDOs feature a power off pin that allows them to draw less than 0,1 µA (typical) in power off mode, thus extending battery life. To save space, the LDOs are supplied in 2x3mm SOT and DFN packages. These features provide designers with a high degree of flexibility for a huge variety of applications, including medical, mobile devices, and LED lighting controllers. Many of today's electronic designs need to work in environments that contain high levels of electrical and magnetic noise. Noise is generated when switching transients and RF signals couple on power lines. Applications such as ground fault and arc flash circuit breakers, wireless devices, aftermarket automotive electronics, and medical devices are sensitive to this noise from the power supply. The MCP1755 and MCP1755S LDOs feature a high Power Supply Rejection Ratio (PSRR) of 70 dB at 1 kHz, which filters out input noise and delivers noticeably cleaner output voltages, so They are especially suitable for applications sensitive to noise. The new LDOs are now available in sample and volume production quantities. Learn more at http://www.microchip.com/get/LMUT.
