Buck-Boost Dimmer for LEDs LDB-L series

MEAN WELL announces the new LDB-L and LDB-LW constant current regulators.

These devices admit an input voltage between 9 and 36Vdc, normally from a battery, and convert it into a constant current output to directly feed 300mA, 350mA, or 500mA LEDs. 600mA.

The main advantage offered by this series compared to its predecessors LDD-H, LDD-L and LDH series is that the output voltage can be higher or lower than the input voltage as it has a buck-boost typology (voltage reducer and booster). input). The previous series could only give a constant output current in a higher or lower voltage range than the input one. This made the design difficult since it was limited to the voltage of batteries and our LEDs. With this new version we offer a more versatile solution for solar LED lighting applications. In this type of applications, the batteries are charged during daylight hours and the stored energy is used to power the LEDs at night.

These types of applications are used in countries or areas where there is no electrical network and also in many applications where maximum energy savings and simplicity in installation are sought. For example, we have applications in bus stops, public lighting, gardens and country houses. In addition, the LDB-L series includes an EMI filter that allows compliance with EN55015 lighting electromagnetic compatibility without additional components.

These equipments are manufactured with encapsulation material that transmits heat and insulates against humidity and electricity, which offers a high degree of IP67 protection in extreme humidity and dust environments. In addition, these equipments can be dimmed by regulating the output intensity, which allows the brightness to be reduced when the battery is running. depleting to increase operating hours. Also the consumption of the equipment in stand-by is very small, which increases the duration of the battery.
