The B5L is ideal for those applications that require accurate distance information.
AVNET Abacus announces the availability of OMROM EMC's B5L Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor module, which uses the travel time of light to measure the distance to objects.
The B5L is capable of transforming captured images into 3D images and can measure at a speed of twenty frames per second (fps), allowing tracking of the movement of objects in 3 dimensions.
The ToF sensor uses the information of the distance to be able to identify the surrounding environment and offers immunity to ambient light (equivalent to one hundred lx) to ensure stable detection free of saturation, even with direct incidence of sunlight.
The B5L is also noted for its high output accuracy (±2 percent – two meters) for compensated signals, long life (equivalent to five years of operation) thanks to OMROM's exclusive circuit design, high heat dissipation and interference prevention function (up to seventeen units) to allow the use of multiple devices at the same time.
Ideal in those applications that require precise distance information, the ToF 3D sensor module can be used in AMR and service robots (fall detection, environment recognition and people recognition); logistics and transport (volume and shape measurement and detection of empty spaces); monitoring and observation (understanding and observing the behavior of patients in long-term care); or in automatic doors and elevators (counting people).
