The PAN1781 brings wireless connectivity to smart homes and industrial environments

Avnet Abacus announces availability of Bluetooth 5 Low Energy module PAN1781 de Panasonic with single chip controller nRF52820 de Nordic Semiconductor.

The features of Bluetooth 5 technology, as well as the LE code PHY for an extended range (125 or 500 kB/s) or the PHY 2M high-speed (2 Mbps), are supported by angle-of-arrival direction-finding support (AoA) and departure angle (AoD).

The combination of an output power of up to 8dBm, the sensitivity of the nRF52820 and the PHY of LE code make the module very attractive in those applications where long-range. It also supports Bluetooth protocols mesh, Thread and Zigbee mesh.

In addition, the PAN1781 is distinguished by its minimal power consumption to suit the requirements of battery powered devices. And, with the Cortex® M4 processor (64 MHz), 32 kB RAM and 256 kB flash memory, it can easily be used in standalone mode and therefore eliminates the need for an external processorthus reducing complexity, space and cost.

AES/ECB/CCM/AAR coprocessor can be used for hot packet encryption, so the PAN1781 brings advanced wireless connectivity in a small package to smart homes, industrial environments and many other applications.

This RoHS and REACH compliant Bluetooth 5 Low Energy module also integrates up to sixteen General Purpose I/Os (GPIOs), shared by up to two SPIs, two I²Cs, one UART, COMP, QDEC and nRESET, one USB interface 2 and a temperature sensor.

The PAN1781 is specially indicated as a substitute for the models PAN1026A and PAN1762.
