ZMB20 units are ideal in industrial automation systems, robotics, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment

TDK Corporation (TSE 6762) announces the introduction of buffer modules open frame ZMB20 with the ability to offer maintenance (raid) additional of 380 ms for AC-DC power supplies 12, 15 and 24V. This extended time allows computers to be shut down safely and, as a consequence, prevents data loss.

Applications for ZMB20 buffer modules span industrial automation systems, robotics, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

By preventing an “unsafe” discharge of stored energy, the remote on/off feature can be used to inhibit the output. For remote monitoring, DC OK and photocoupled relay signals indicate product readiness status.

Multiple modules can be connected in parallel to lengthen buffer times. the energy of raid is stored in the electrolytic capacitors instead of batteries and eliminates the need for commissioning and maintenance.

On the 24V output model, a switch can be used to select fixed or variable voltage buffer levels. In fixed mode it will supply power when the input voltage drops to 22,4V, while in variable mode it will supply power when the input drops to 1V.

The ZMB20 modules, which measure 175 x 85 x 57 mm, operate in the temperature range from -25 to +70 °C and are presented with five year warranty.

They also incorporate input overvoltage and overload protection, as well as input current reduction (inrush) and internal fuses.

Safety certifications include IEC/UL/CSA/EN 62368-1 with CE Marking in accordance with Low Voltage (LV), EMC and RoHS directives.
