The trend towards the miniaturization of equipment is increasingly evident, and new applications require innovative connection techniques adapted to the current times. In this line, Phoenix Contact offers its range of miniature electronic connection, extremely compact, with fixed solutions for fast connection, but also pluggable. The latter allow the wiring to be pre-assembled and, in the event of damage or failure, defective equipment can be replaced quickly and easily, simply by unplugging it. With a height of only 5 mm, PTSM terminal blocks and connectors offer a direct, fast and safe spring-loaded connection. Despite its small size, rigid or flexible cables with ferrules up to a section of 0,75 mm² can be easily connected without the need for tools. In the case of flexible cables without ferrules, up to the same maximum section, only a screwdriver will be necessary to make the connection. PTPM connectors, suitable for Ethernet, have been developed with the new IPC piercing connection technology. The cables, without stripping, are connected in pairs and without the need to use any type of tool. The PTSM base housings, valid for the two types of connectors detailed above, have been developed for both SMD and THR reflow soldering processes, being able to achieve, in both cases, an automated assembly of the printed circuit boards.
