Arrow Offers Embedded Computing Based on Qualcomm Snapdragon Processors

Arrow Electronics has announced that it will offer development platforms for embedded computing based initially on Snapdragon 600 processors. Arrow will ship a development platform and systems-on-module based on Snapdragon 600 processors from Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated. This will provide customers using embedded systems and industrial customers with better access to high-performance, low-power solutions based on Snapdragon as well as features for developing products and applications such as security systems, robotics, and motion control.

"Qualcomm's Snapdragon processors are recognized as market-leading products designed to deliver high-performance features," said David West, vice president of global marketing and engineering for Arrow's global component department. "We are excited about the opportunity to ship development platforms based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon processors globally, so we can offer design services to customers that will decrease time to market."

"Snapdragaon-based development platforms and systems-on-modules provide developers and manufacturers of commercial communication devices with a platform they can use to create a wide range of embedded products," said Tia Cassett, executive director of product management at Qualcomm Technologies. "We congratulate Arrow for distributing these platforms globally."
In addition to providing solutions based on Snapdragon, hardware and software, Arrow will also offer technical support to developers, thereby accelerating product deployment time.
