KEMET Corporation, a leading manufacturer of tantalum, ceramic, aluminum, film, paper, and electrolytic capacitors, and Modelithics have partnered to provide highly accurate and scalable global models of the KEMET CBR Series™ capacitors, sizes 0201, 0402, 0603. , and 0805, for RF and microwave applications.
As a novelty for this work, whose objective is the improvement of the design, Modelithics uses the real low frequency capacity of the parts used for the development of the RF model instead of the assumed value of nominal part. Measured and validated up to 20 GHz, the models are now available from Modelithics at http://www.modelithics.com/mvp/KEMET. Single parameter-S substrates can also be downloaded for free from this same area. “Customers and design engineers can use these models for circuit simulation to accurately predict various electrical parameters during the use of KEMET HiQ-CBR capacitors in circuits,” said Dr. Abhijit Gurav, KEMET Vice President of Ceramic Technology. “This is critical for customers to be able to design circuits with higher capabilities at the lowest cost, as well as reducing design cycle times and time.”
