Glass fiber optic sensors

Expansion of the range to adapt to the needs of different applications

Carlo Gavazzi expands its family of fiber optic sensors with the launch of the FUGR / FUGT series glass fibers and the FU-ARRAY plastic matrix fibers. The fiberglass version is specifically designed for high temperature applications. The fiber is protected by an outer stainless steel cover, allowing its installation in applications subject to temperatures of up to 250 °C. Plastic matrix fibers complete the range. This type of fiber is used in applications that require a larger coverage area, such as falling object detection or detection of objects on a conveyor belt. The family of fiber optic sensors includes a multifunction amplifier that is easy to configure, equipped with a double display, adjustable signal threshold, response time, timer, and NO/NC output, among other functions. These sensors are targeted at the semiconductor and material handling markets.

ICB12, extra short body: inductive sensors for limited spaces

High precision and repeatability in a small box

Carlo Gavazzi launches the ICB12 series of inductive sensors in an extra short box, specifically aimed at machine tool or CNC machine applications. They can be installed in applications where space is limited and long distance detection is required. The ICB12 series is available in a standard M12 nickel-plated brass case, with a sensing distance of 4 to 8 mm. The LED is clearly visible from any direction and indicates if there is an overload and if the output is shorted. The sensor's serial number and order code are laser etched on the front, ensuring traceability of each unit. The ICB12 sensors represent the best option for non-contact detection of metallic objects in applications where space is limited: In addition, the detection distance is extended up to 8 mm in the non-recessed version; the sensor remains well protected and its useful life is increased. Likewise, it provides a high level of technology in a compact design. The integrated microprocessor guarantees repeatability and high precision detection in a wide working temperature range up to 80°C.
