Omron Hosts ASTM International Committee F45 Summit to Define Certain International Standards in the Field of Mobile Robotics

The first F45 Committee Summit in Europe will be held at Omron's new Innovation Lab in France and aims to ensure a productive implementation of innovative mobile robotics technology.
Omron Industrial Automation Europe hosts the first F45 Committee Summit in Europe at the company's new premises in Annecy, France on December 11-12, 2018.
Committee F45 Summit is an event organized by ASTM International for the development of international performance standards for the mobile robotics industry. To date, this summit has been held in the United States, and this is the first time it has taken place outside the United States. It involves autonomous industrial vehicle experts from around the world, coming together to define a comprehensive set of standards to help control the production and performance of mobile robotics.
This event, which represents the eighth summit of the F45 Committee, is held every six months to define the performance standards of industrial mobile robots, as well as to establish standardized measurement techniques that allow classifying the performance of the systems and comparing the different systems. in specific operations. Also, by having the main leaders in this field, the group will agree on certain key aspects of the industry, such as standard terminology and testing methodology.
Bruno Adam, Commercial Director of the Mobile Robots Division in Europe, said: “We are proud to host this summit at the new Omron Innovation Lab in France. We are aware of the urgent need we have to develop a joint set of standards to advance the field of mobile robotics, in order to implement innovative technology in a safe and productive way. We welcome our industry colleagues and look forward to sharing our collective experience to develop a set of standards with ASTM International that serves our customers."
