RS Components Introduces Exclusive Arduino Robot Tutorial Videos

Massimo Banzi, creator of Arduino, present how to develop and use projects with the Arduino robot, through 5 video tutorials, available on the RS YouTube channel

.

RS Components launches a series of five exclusive video tutorials where Arduino creator Massimo Banzi introduces himself to the Arduino robot, exploring some of the features of this new open source hardware on wheels.

The videos were launched today at the Maker Faire in Rome and can be viewed exclusively on the RS YouTube channel in English, with subtitled versions in French, German, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Japanese. The series of these five 10 minute videos explain how to use the robot in an instructive and entertaining way. Massimo Banzi, David Cuartielles (Arduino co-founder) and Xun Yang (interactive designer) have fun presenting some of these projects:

1. Introduction to the Arduino robot with Hello User! – this video shows how to unpack, assemble and use the Arduino IDE to program the robot

2. LOGO and remote control of the Robot – shows us some code examples in the Arduino IDE and how to control the robot remotely

3. Avoiding obstacles, creating strategies – the team uses different technologies to detect the distance between the robot and the objects in the room

4. Following the right path - the Arduino robot does not go out of the loop using the IR sensor array on the motor board

5. Images and sounds – explains how to use the screen and play sound through the robot's speaker

Massimo Banzi commented: “It is a great pleasure for me to announce the collaboration between Arduino and RS at the Maker Fair. We have been working together all this time to create five exclusive tutorial videos, which introduce and describe how the new Arduino robot works. David Cuartielles and Xun Yang have worked with me to cover all the steps, from the most basic concepts of the Arduino to the most complex programming. It has been a really special moment for the entire Arduino team who are looking forward to seeing how our fans are going to use the new robot.”
