– ISO17025 accreditation opens up new calibration options for manufacturers interested in energy efficiency and its measurements.

Yokogawa has once again increased its leadership in calibration with the launch of a new AC power calibration service. The launch of the new service continues Yokogawa's accreditation (K164) according to ISO17025, which allows the calibration of AC energy metering devices up to forty MWh in a maximum time of one thousand hours.

This is ideal for manufacturers of products, equipment or appliances where energy efficiency measurement is essential to meet efficiency targets, to test product specifications or to meet regulatory requirements such as energy labeling on appliances. consumer products.

It is also essential for utility-based power billing applications between dealer and user, not only for homes and offices, but for other applications as well, for example, electric car charging. Other uses include renewable energy projects such as photovoltaic, wind installations and final tests where energy is involved.

With the new service, Yokogawa's European Standards Laboratory, based at the company's European headquarters in Amersfoort, The Netherlands, now offers comprehensive energy and power calibration, tailored to meet the needs of specific applications.

Erik Kroon, Director of the Yokogawa European Standards Laboratory, says: “We are one of the few laboratories capable of calibrating in the forty Hz to 1 kHz frequency range.
“This makes us particularly attractive to engineers working in automotive, aviation and many other applications, who can now more easily achieve ISO17025 accredited energy measurements for XNUMXHz systems. Power and energy precision calibration ensure their designs and also equipment meet engineering and quality control requirements.”

“We are proud to be able to expand our calibration services to include AC power,” said Terry Marrinan, Yokogawa's vice president of global marketing. Test & Measurement, "and now also supports service customers who need to maintain the accuracy and reliable repeatability of their test equipment to meet the regulatory needs of their application."
