u-blox and GMV join forces to create state-of-the-art secure positioning solutions for automotive applications

u-blox are proud to announce a collaboration agreement to combine u-blox's GNSS receiver hardware and GMV's secure fixes service, sensor fusion and positioning software. This complete solution responds to the needs of automotive applications by providing a global approach to security that maximizes performance and minimizes the costs derived from the commercialization process.

The collaboration between these two pioneers of secure positioning represents an important advance in positioning solutions for the automotive sector. Starting in the second quarter of 2023, u-blox will market the solution directly, including the integration service and certification support that will later be provided jointly by u-blox and GMV, for applications ranging from ADAS Level 2+ to fully autonomous vehicles.

According to Miguel Romay, General Manager of GMV's Satellite Navigation Systems, “we are delighted to collaborate with u-blox to achieve a common goal: to offer a comprehensive secure positioning solution for the automotive industry. Using our joint expertise and experience, we will provide a cost-effective and reliable solution that addresses the current needs of vehicle manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers to the automotive industry around the world."

The collaboration between GMV and u-blox was forged during the last Mobile World Congress (MWC), Barcelona 2023. The two companies will collaborate closely to integrate their respective technologies and create a solution that meets the needs of future automotive applications worldwide .
