Great success of the seminar "New Design and Measurement Techniques in High Speed Digital Buses" from Agilent Technologies

On November 20,21, 22 and XNUMX, Agilent Technologies held the Seminar "New Design and Measurement Techniques in High-Speed Digital Buses", the event took place at the Tecnun - CEIT facilities in San Sebastián, at the ETSI of Telecommunications of Madrid and in the Faculty of Physics of the University of Barcelona.

The well-attended event was given by Riccardo Giacometti, Agilent Applications Engineer specializing in high-speed serial bus design and simulation tools, and Bernardo Carretero, Director of the digital measurement solutions business for Spain.

Throughout this seminar, those attending the event were shown the new software and hardware tools available from Agilent Technologies to create a new design methodology for high-speed digital buses, thus being able to predict even in the development phase. design and simulation possible errors that until now it was only possible to identify in the measurement and compliance phase; thanks to the correlation of data and values obtained in any of the stages of the design phase of a new digital circuit; thus ensuring that our project meets its execution deadlines.

In addition, numerous practical cases were shown, focused on both Design Engineers and Hardware Engineers, through new measurement tools that facilitate the interrelation between both stages in the development phase of their products that until now was not possible. achieving greater control over the specifications obtained at each design stage and overcoming the historical disparity of results obtained between simulations and measurements.

Agilent has a wide range of design, simulation, measurement, and conformance tools to help address signal integrity issues that arise at any stage of your product development. Among the equipment shown in this seminar, it is worth noting

1.- High Performance Digital Oscilloscope, Agilent DSOX93204A model, this oscilloscope is the only one on the market capable of managing up to 2GPt of memory in each of its channels. This oscilloscope is especially suitable for the characterization and debugging of high-speed digital circuits, such as DDR3 memories.

2.- Arbitrary Waveform Generator, Agilent M8190A model, presents great versatility, being able to arbitrarily generate both high-speed digital signals, as well as wireless communications signals, or signals present in A/D environments where the dynamic range, modulation bandwidth and sweep speed are critical.

3.- Vector Network Analyzer, Agilent E5071C model, which is capable of not only characterizing components, but also optionally adding a license to be used as TDR, allowing analysis of information both in the domain of frequency as time. Thanks to this option, it is even possible to represent an eye diagram, which can be correlated both with the measurement obtained in simulation and the diagram obtained with a real-time oscilloscope.

4.- Logic analyzer, Agilent 16821A model, this equipment allows the user to integrate the user interface of an oscilloscope into the graphical user interface (GUI) of the logic analyzer, thus combining in this equipment both the physical layer and the logical layer of our system.

5.- USB Protocol Analyzer, Agilent U4611A model, which allows analyzing up to 18GB of information in real time. It also has a new and revolutionary trigger system that will allow Engineers to find solutions faster and more intuitively.
