New PXIe VXT vector transceiver from Keysight Technologies speeds solution creation, reduces lead times and provides higher test density

Factory calibration of the integrated instrument module ensures performance and accuracy specified in wireless device manufacturing tests

Keysight Technologies, Inc. today introduced the PXIe VXT vector transceiver, a fully calibrated instrument module that offers vector signal generation and analysis in four slots. Offering faster measurements and complex software, the VXT is expressly designed to accelerate solution creation and performance in manufacturing test of wireless components and Internet of Things (IoT) devices.

System developers can easily create test solutions for power amplifiers (PAs) and front-end modules (FEMs) using the VXT's ready-to-use software and FPGA-accelerated measurements. To reduce programming time, Keysight provides an open source PA reference solution that includes proven system configurations and sample software routines for PA and FEM testing. These capabilities speed up insights and reduce effort compared to general-purpose alternatives.

To speed test performance, the VXT includes features such as real-time FFT that enable high-speed measurements of signal power and Adjacent Channel Relative Power (ACPR).

To speed up automated testing, a built-in servo routine quickly performs an optimized and precise final setup for PA output levels.

"As a specific yet customizable tool, the VXT transceiver helps test engineers reduce time, compress testing, and start closer to the finish line," said Nana Amoa, product marketing manager, Measurement Solutions Division Keysight Communications. The VXT also offers a significant business benefit, as rather than building or acquiring new facilities, manufacturers can easily build more capacity at existing facilities and rapidly increase volume.”

Up to four VXT modules can be installed in a single 18-slot PXI chassis. In addition, system builders can create versatile single-chassis solutions that include a VXT combined with Keysight DIO cards and their award-winning single-slot PXI vector network analyzer. The VXT's calibration is guaranteed because it is a fully integrated instrument module.

The VXT covers frequencies from 60 MHz to 6 GHz and provides 160 MHz of I/Q bandwidth for vector signal generation and analysis.

With a maximum output power of +18 dBm, the vector signal generator can compensate for signal losses using matrix switchers.

Various Keysight software programs are compatible with the VXT. For example, developers can simplify the creation of specific test signals using Signal Studio software. Additionally, problems in your test setups can be easily fixed using detailed displays in supported X-Series measurement applications and VSA 89600 software.
