µCs (µCs) are often considered by designers to be one of the easiest products to use thanks to their simple programming language, wide range of peripherals and good value for money.
µCs are used in a wide range of cutting-edge products, from washing machines to automobiles. A µC, also known by the acronym MCU or µC, is a small computer mounted on an integrated circuit, consisting of a relatively simple CPU combined with support functions such as timers, serial and analog inputs/outputs, etc. Currently, the program memory is usually of the Flash NOR type, which is generally included on the chip. There are three main families of µCs, 8, 16 and 32 bits. At the moment, the most widely used family is still the 8-bit family, but more and more powerful 16-bit and 32-bit µCs are beginning to be used.
