From the point of view of the use of the available spectrum, the digital modulations of an RF channel are characterized by a very efficient use of it. These modulations can be classified in many ways, and one of them is to consider modulation on a single carrier or modulation on several orthogonal carriers. In both cases, it is a question of obtaining an extended spectrum that occupies all, or almost all, the spectrum available for the communications channel in question. In the case of digital TV, both systems are used.
