RF generators. Understanding and interpreting your specifications.

Understanding and interpreting the specifications of an instrument is critical for several reasons: a) it allows the user to predict how the instrument will perform in a specific measurement; b) determine the appropriate equipment for a certain application and c) evaluate the total measurement uncertainty or error that the instrument is committing. In this article we will describe the way that manufacturers specify or characterize radio frequency generators or, also called, signal sources.
