New series of Omron HMI terminals: High performance at your fingertips

Now with built-in web interface to control your machine from anywhere in the world

With the new high-performance NB-series Omron HMI terminals, machine designers provide operators and maintenance technicians with greater functionality and ability to interact with their machines.

Omron's new series of HMI terminals provide increased functionality and usability for small to medium-sized machines. It includes a wide range of models with screens ranging from 3.5” to 10.1” that adapt to different application requirements; all screens feature a TFT touch display with long-life LED backlighting, a wide viewing angle and the ability to display more than 65.000 colours.

The NB series HMI terminals include Serial, Ethernet and USB communication to connect with different PLCs and Omron devices, especially with the CP1 compact programmable controller. It can also communicate with devices from other manufacturers. It also incorporates connection with USB memories to perform application maintenance or save data and alarm histories. With an intelligent and simple design, the NB series terminals provide all the necessary features and functions so that the designer can create intuitive screens with all quickly, thanks to programming software that can be downloaded free of charge from the Omron website. Such software provides flexible window control, support for up to 32 languages per application, the ability to create animations, and a set of powerful macros. Furthermore, to save design time, projects can be simulated without the need for HW.

The NB series HMI terminals allow users to optimize production tasks and offer a wide set of options for the graphical representation of data in real time and history, allowing the understanding of all information with a simple "glance" .

Different fonts and colors can be defined for each alarm, depending on its priority. The alarms notify the operator by means of an acoustic signal and a text message, and pop-up alarms can even be created for cases that require immediate action. There are also options to, for example, assign security levels to the different screens and actions, with control of permissions for each operator, as well as operator checks to confirm the actions carried out.

Thanks to the built-in Web interface, operators can always be in contact with their machine from anywhere in the world. They will be able to monitor and operate on the HMI application as if they were in front of it, from a standard Web browser with a PC, tablet or smartphone.
