PWM outputs improve signal conditioning of sensors
Today, most silicon piezoresistive sensors (PRTs) are used in pressure measurement applications. They are manufactured using silicon micromachining techniques and are typically arranged as a Wheatstone bridge of four resistors on a single monolithic die. Like integrated circuits, sensors are cheap because they are processed on a wafer containing hundreds or thousands of them. Until now, most of these sensor ICs have been used in the automotive, consumer products and industrial products industries, where the required precision is low or medium.
