Design and construction of a 60 W Forward switching power supply.

The vast majority of electronic equipment is powered with continuous voltages provided either by batteries, batteries or by power sources from the network. In the latter case, and speaking in very general terms, the power supplies can be linear and switched.
Although a good design of a conventional or linear power supply will often provide better regulation and ripple factors, as well as lower output impedance than a switching-type power supply, performance, weight, and volume are the factors. that prevail the most when deciding on the latter. As an indicative example, the performance of a linear power supply, in the best of cases, does not reach 40%, while that of a switched mode will normally be between 70% and 90%.
