R&S IQW100 broadband I/Q data logger facilitates field tests in the laboratory with mid-range instruments

The R&S IQW100 sends real-world signals to the lab to simulate realistic test environments in combination with Rohde & Schwarz mid-range signal generators and analyzers. It follows on from the successful 2018 launch of the R&S IQW broadband I/Q data logger, designed for Rohde & Schwarz's unique high-end instruments. The R&S IQW100 is capable of recording and reproducing signals with bandwidths up to 200 MHz and sampling rates up to 250 MS/s.
Many worldwide users of an R&S FSV signal and spectrum analyzer, the best-selling mid-range analyzer of all time, and an R&S SMBV100A or R&S SGT100A vector signal generator, will now be able to have field environments in their laboratories thanks to to the R&S IQW100. Typical applications for the R&S IQW100 include mobile phone signals, EME, GNSS, or radio or TV broadcasting.
Users can record the signals acquired with the analyzer in any selected environment and then play them back with the generator. Signals acquired with the analyzer are transferred to the R&S IQW100 via the standard digital I/Q interface, available on selected Rohde & Schwarz instruments, and stored as I/Q data. To restore the recorded signal, the data is again sent over the same standard Rohde & Schwarz digital I/Q interface to the signal generator. Signals with a maximum bandwidth of 160 MHz and a sampling rate of up to 200 MS/s are recorded.
The instruments are suitable for all WLAN/Wi-Fi signals and all current commercial mobile phone standards. The R&S IQW100 can also be used with the high-end R&S FSW spectrum and signal analyzer and an R&S SMW200A vector signal generator. In addition to the standard Rohde & Schwarz digital I/Q interface, the R&S IQW100 also includes the R&S HS-DIG-IQ interface, an interface with which the high-end analyzer and generator can be equipped. With these high-end instruments you have a maximum bandwidth of 200 MHz and a sampling rate of up to 250 MS/s.
Both the R&S IQW and the R&S IQW100 are typically controlled via LAN by entering SCPI commands or by a web-based GUI that automatically adapts to the screen size. Optionally it can be managed locally using the 5,7” TFT touch screen or by connecting a keyboard and mouse.
