A few months after launching the NPB-450/750/1200 series of 450W/750W/1200W ultra-wide range smart universal chargers, MEAN WELL and OLFER Electronics presents the newest model in the family, the 1700W NPB-1700.

The unit is designed with built-in MCU and auto-ranging battery detection technology (newly patented), which will automatically adjust the charging voltage setting based on the battery voltage (please note that this mode is only suitable for lithium ion with BMS). In addition, there are three different models of 12V (10,5-21V), 24V (21-42V) and 48V (42-80V) with a wide 2:1 charging voltage range. Each unit can be used for a wide range of batteries, so users don't need to purchase multiple chargers due to its versatility. This not only saves costs for users, but also contributes to improving the environment and sustainable development.
In addition to intelligent voltage detection, ultra-wide voltage and multiple applications, the NPB-1700 can also be paired with the SBP-001 Smart Programmer to connect to the computer and program various parameters, such as selecting the load in 2 /3 stages, adjust charging voltage/current, set charger standby time, etc. The charger parameters can also be manually adjusted via DIP SW on the front panel for charging current (50~100%) or selection among 4 preset curves. For more professional application integration, the NPB-1700 has a built-in CANBus protocol, which allows remote configuration and control of the charger. Regarding safety functions, the charger detects if the battery voltage is correct and if it is correctly connected before starting to charge.
The charger also has reverse polarity protection. It is certified to ITE IEC/EN/UL 62368-1 and EN60335-1/-2-29 double safety appliances, ensuring reliable operation. It is suitable for charging systems used for RVs, RV trailers, electric scooters, skateboards, AGVs, AMRs, service robots, medical carts, electric wheelchairs, portable light towers, yachts, safety equipment chargers, etc.
