Mouser Electronics announces a new distribution agreement with Astrocast, a leading operator of IoT networks for nanosatellites. Through this agreement, Mouser is offering Astrocast's "Satellite IoT (SatIoT)" technology to customers in Australia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
Astrocast operates a global IoT network for nanosatellites, offering services in sectors such as smart agriculture, infrastructure, marine, environment, and utilities. The Astrocast network allows businesses to control, track, and communicate with remote satellite resources with the Astronode S module, available from Mouser Electronics. The Astronode S is a satellite communication module with a serial interface and a compact form factor for surface mounting. The device has been optimized to operate with low power consumption, making it ideal for highly integrated, battery-powered IoT systems. The Astronode S module allows devices with two-way satellite communication to be controlled and monitored for up to 10 years on a single battery.
Mouser also offers the Astronode Patch, a miniature antenna designed for communication with Astrocast IoT satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). It is built on a high permittivity ceramic substrate, resulting in a smaller antenna that maintains good RF performance at L-band Astrocast network operating frequencies. The antenna's extremely low profile allows it to be placed anywhere place and simplifies integration with other devices.
Mouser will also offer the Astronode S+, a ready-to-install, certified industrial satellite communication device based on the Astronode S and an Astronode Patch antenna. The Astronode S+ is designed to connect quickly and easily to applications via the Astronode S full digital interface or via RS232, both available on the industry-grade board-to-wire connector. No resources are required for electronic and RF design, reducing time to market. This device features a small form factor, allowing for discreet installations.
