Six new security-focused products seek to optimize and enhance embedded security in sectors such as IoT, consumer, industrial and automotive

Embedded security continues to be a high priority, and designers need revised, easy-to-use, and cost-optimized security solutions that adhere to industry best practices. To provide complete embedded security solutions, Microchip Technology today announces that it has expanded its portfolio of secure authentication devices with six new products from its families of integrated circuits. CryptoAuthentication y CryptoAutomotive, which meet stringent secure key storage specifications and JIL (Joint Interpretation Library) Common Criteria certified algorithms compliant with FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standard).

This range of secure authentication devices makes it easy for developers of products targeting new segments and applications to implement trusted authentication to prevent counterfeiting, improve quality control, and protect the user experience. With counterfeits becoming more common in many industries, the need to build embedded trust into many designs is paramount.

The devices are supported by the Trust Platform Design Suite, a software tool used to embed Microchip's secure key delivery service into these ICs. This service is scalable and enables the deployment of crypto assets to projects of virtually any size, from dozens of devices to large-scale deployment in various industries, including consumer and medical disposables, automotive and industrial accessories, wireless charging, and hubs. of data.

"Cost-sensitive application developers who may have limited or insecure authentication can now add this critical feature thanks to new additions to our security portfolio," said Nuri Dagdeviren, corporate vice president of Secure Computing business unit at Microchipped. "Microchip continues to deliver on its commitment to develop the most advanced, cost-optimized and versatile security products for a wide range of end applications."

Microchip has added five new products to its existing portfolio of hardware-based secure store CryptoAuthentication ICs designed to protect secret keys from unauthorized attackers:

  • ECC204: signature ECC-P256 and HMAC (Hash-based Message Authentication Code)
  • ECC206: two-pin parasitic power, signature ECC-P256 and HMAC
  • SHA104: SHA256 MAC client
  • SHA105: host SHA256 CheckMAC
  • SHA106: two-pin parasitic power and SHA256 MAC client

The sixth new device is designed for the automotive market. The ECC and HMAC signed TA010 is an AEC-Q100 Grade 1 certified CryptoAutomotive IC that enables OEMs to implement secure authentication into their design without costly modifications and meets security requirements for future generations of their vehicles. .

Microchip's security products are compatible with any microprocessor or microcontroller and can be used as auxiliary devices with AVR microcontrollers.® as well as microprocessors and microcontrollers based on the Arm core® from Microchip. These secure authentication ICs offer customers a versatile solution that conforms to changing industry standards and practices.
