DALI dimmable LED driver: PWM-120-DA for LED strips

MEAN WELL's PWM series has been very well received for LED strip applications. They have a PWM output that allows any LED strip to be perfectly regulated, achieving perfect regulation even at very low levels. Now MEAN WELL launches the DALI version (for the PWM-120-12DA and PWM-120-24DA models) to control lighting systems using the DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) protocol. With the PWM-120-DA drivers we can get all the advantages of using the DALI protocol.
These sources can configure their output as linear or logarithmic as well as incorporate full DALI functionality. One of the main advantages of working with DALI is that it allows planning an installation or lighting system in a more conceptual than physical way with the possibility of easily modifying groups or scenes at the last moment without having implications at the operational level (wiring) as it happens with other types of systems.
In addition, it is a very flexible system due to the possibility of changing groups and creating scenes. A second point would include the reduction of costs. On the one hand, lower cost in control systems by being able to integrate different products from different manufacturers into the same system. Another advantage of using this series in its DALI version is that it can be easily connected to other more complex systems such as BMS building control systems (KNX, TCP/IP, BACnet, wireless). The DA version is compatible with any DALI system. With a plastic casing designed for architectural, decorative, outdoor applications or any LED lighting application that requires a high quality driver. Approved HL Class I Division 2 for explosive zones in the USA.
