With high power density, the GENESYS+ 7.5kW units provide greater choice in voltage and output current

TDK Corporation (TSE 6762) to announces the availability of new models of the series TDK-Lambda GENESYS+ of programmable DC power supplies 7,5 kW with high power density.

The innovations, which provide greater choice in output voltage and current (from 0-20V/375A to 0-1500V/5A), are directed to the sector of the automotive (electric and hybrid vehicle testing) and research and development (R&D), measurement, semiconductor and battery production, and renewable energy projects.

These GENESYS+ models offer voltages of 0-30 V/250 A, 0-60 V/125 A, 0-80 V/94 A, 0-200 V/37,5 A, 0-300 V/25 A and 0- 1000 V/7,5 A. They can operate in constant current, constant voltage or constant power limit modes and have an internal resistance simulation function. They can also be specified to accept three-phase inputs from 170 to 265 or from 342 to 528 Vac, with power factor correction (PFC) and efficiencies of up to 92 percent.

New units with 7,5 kW output allow system configurators to eliminate the need for paralleling lower wattage power supplies, helping to reduce the size of the rack or cabinet. This series also takes advantage of digital signal processing technology (DSP) and state-of-the-art components, such as ferrite materials, to achieve efficiencies of 91 to 92 percent. And, having a lower internal waste heat, a larger power range is supported without compromising reliability.

GENESYS+ 7.5 kW power supplies are ideal for rack mounting zero stack when measuring 423mm (width), 486,5mm (depth) and 43,6mm – 1U (height). Cooling is achieved through variable speed fans that monitor ambient temperature and output load to minimize noise and reduce operator fatigue. The weight does not reach 8,5 kg.

All models in the GENESYS+ series feature a LCD screen high-contrast, wide-viewing angle with brightness and dimming control functions and programmable response times, with ability to adjust the effect slew rate of voltage and current. In addition, it is possible to generate arbitrary waveform test profiles of up to one hundred steps and store them in four memory cells and activate them by commands from the communication ports on the front panel controls.

For additional power, these 7,5 kW programmable sources use the advanced parallel system from TDK-Lambda (proprietary) which allows a multi-unit system to be built and offers dynamic response, ripple and noise performance comparable to that of a single source. it's possible connect in parallel up to twelve models GENESYS+ through a data link cable between them and the connection of the DC outputs. Command and auxiliary units are automatically configured upon detecting the parallel data connection and set their parameters accordingly.

La programming is standardized across the GENESYS+ series from 1 to 60 kW via front panel controls, remotely via LAN (LXI 1.5), USB 2.0 and RS232/485 communications or isolated analog control and monitoring (0-5 V and 0 -10V). The optional interfaces they include a choice of EtherCAT, Modbus-TCP or GPIB (IEEE488.2), while the software package consists of software drivers, a waveform creator and a virtual front panel GUI. Furthermore, the functions of fullfilment of security requirements, which are standard, include Safe/Auto Re-Start, Last Setting Memory and many others.

The GENESYS+ 7.5 kW power supplies have IEC/EN/UL 61010-1 safety certificates with the CE and UKCA marking, in accordance with Low Voltage (LV), EMC and RoHS directives. And, like the rest of the models in the GENESYS+ series, they also meet the IEC/EN 61204-3 standard for conducted and radiated EMI immunity and EMC.
