High quality antenna connections for extreme conditions

high quality connections

Würth Elektronik has expanded its offer of coaxial cables and connectors with a complete range of N connectors according to MIL-STD-348 with 50 Ω impedance. Sockets for connection to the application board are available in straight and angled THT versions or with panel mounting for cable or board soldering. In addition to ready-made cables, individual cable connections for assembly on site are also available.

Würth Elektronik's coaxial connectors are suitable for use outdoors or in extreme environments, for example in radio base stations, signal distributors, GPS systems or ship antennas - precisely the application for which type N was supposedly originally developed. Therefore, all connector options are available with protection class IP67. Gold-plated THT contacts have higher corrosion resistance than typical tinned connections, and gold-plated phosphor bronze center contacts even reduce component costs compared to beryllium copper used elsewhere.

High-quality high-frequency cables

Würth Elektronik offers various pre-assembled cables, including the Low Loss 195 and Low Loss 200 double-screened cables, which are compatible with LMR195/200 or CFD195/200. FEP-jacketed RG316 cable, for example, is resistant to oil, chemicals and weathering, and can be used at operating temperatures from -55 to +165°C. The various N-type cable connectors are intended for quick assembly of small quantity cable assemblies and field assembly. The secure screw connection is achieved without tools thanks to the knurled nut. The IP67 jack together with RG178 is also suitable for microcoaxial cables (1,3, 1,32 and 1,37). The new coax products also include type N to SMA adapters, needed as patch extensions and for adapting RF interfaces or for test equipment.

The new coaxial connectors are already available from stock, just like the rest of the products listed in the Würth Elektronik 2023 Electromechanical Components Catalog. Free samples can be requested.
