Advantech is pleased to announce two new SQFlash PCIe Gen 4 SSD solutions: the SQF 930 and the SQF ER-1. The IoT is driving the growing demand for high-performance storage. To meet this demand, Advantech's SQF 930 and SQF ER-1 series include industrial heat dissipation capabilities that ensure stable and reliable operation, as well as address the unique challenges of edge computing. These solutions have been designed to maximize system efficiency and adapt to the various conditions and extreme temperatures found in industrial/outdoor use scenarios.
Read-intensive, mixed-use, and wide temperature range options
IDC study indicates that connected IoT devices will generate 73,1 ZB of data by 2025. Advantech SQF 930 and ER-1 series are designed with PCIe Gen 4, which offers twice the transmission performance of data compared to 3rd generation solutions. Furthermore, these solutions are also available in M.2 2280 and U.2 (SFF-8639) sizes to accommodate various requirements. To meet various industry applications, SQFlash offers different types of general, read-intensive, and mixed-use options that enable edge storage devices to keep up with many different streaming data sources. In addition, the SQF 930 and ER-1 series support 3 x Drive Writes Per Day (DWPD) and 1 x DWPD levels to cater for different industry requirements. They also offer wide temperature capabilities (–40 ~ 85 °C) for mission critical applications. Finally, Advantech's ER-1 series is built with low-power specifications that meet ESG's modern high-power, low-carbon expectations.
Integrated Industrial Heat Dissipation and Safety Solution
The global market for top-tier AI hardware is expected to reach about $4000 billion by 2029. Also, the development of AI technology has increased power consumption and heat on the edge side. In response, the SQF 930 and ER-1 series adopt thermal glue with exceptional mechanical flexibility to avoid the risk of physical damage to SSD components during sudden temperature changes. The combination of thermal regulation design and real-time I/O adjustment can effectively balance temperature and performance. In addition, the adoption of the IoT has led to unprecedented interconnectivity and increased security concerns. Therefore, the SQF 930 and ER-1 series respond to these challenges by protecting the data stored on the SQFlash SSD. To achieve this, support for real-time monitoring is offered and a complete security solution is used at the firmware level of the SSDs.
