The renewal of the brand reflects the evolution and commercial leadership position of the company

DigiKey today introduced an update to its branding system that includes refreshes to the logo, color palette, typeface, tagline, tone of voice, and name simplification. The new look debuted at the ESD Leadership Summit in Las Vegas and will roll out throughout 2023.

DigiKey's updated logo and brand system reflect the accelerated progress in the industry for every designer, buyer and manufacturer.

"For 50 years, DigiKey's focus has been on accelerating progress for every engineer, designer and manufacturer," said Dave Doherty, DigiKey's president. "Our updated image and spirit reflect that inspiring progress, our leadership position in the industry, and our commitment to digital experiences and solutions that power goods and ideas."

The updated logo and branding system is an evolution of the company's historic image that allows flexibility in the design of digital platforms, while reinforcing the spirit of engineering in a more modern and timeless way. They were designed to emphasize progress and connection with suppliers and customers, reflecting DigiKey's forward-looking outlook and emphasis on digital. The revamped brand identity also features the simplified company name to better reflect its extensive portfolio of technical products and digital solutions.

DigiKey partnered with Lippincott, a global creative consultancy, to revamp the brand's iconic elements and convey modernity.

"Our design work to rebrand DigiKey combined its legacy of success with vision for future growth and opportunity," said Tim Cunningham, Senior Partner in Brand Strategy at Lippincott. "The brand's new system promotes the core business and opens paths for more ambitious steps within an innovative industry."
