RECOM launches DIP24 DC/DC converters with 36-160V input

DC/DC converters for railway applications typically operate on a nominal input of 72V, 96V or 110VDC with dips and overloads. To address this application, RECOM's new cost-effective RPxx-RAW range of isolated and regulated converters offer an ultra-wide input from 36V to 160VDC (200V for 1s) with a section of single and dual outputs: 3,3V, 5V, 12V, 15V, 24V, +/-5V, +/-12V and +/-15V. The RP03-RAW series has a 3W output power rating, the RP06-RAW 6W, and the RP10-RAW 10W. All parts are in a common industry standard 24mm x 31,8mm x 20,3mm tall DIP10,6 pot-through format.

The RPxx-RAW series incorporates advanced circuitry and thermal design techniques that result in high efficiency and low internal temperature rise, allowing full load, convection cooled, high ambient temperature operation without derating : 90°C for the 3W part, 85°C for the 6W part and 75°C for the 10W part. All parts work up to 105°C with derating. Full protection against input undervoltage, overtemperature, output overvoltage, short circuit and overcurrent is included. A disconnect control is also provided.

The parts insulation rating is 3kVAC reinforced and certifications include EN50155, as well as IEC/EN/UL62368 and its Canadian equivalent. The Class A EMC specification EN55032 is met without additional components, while the Class B level can be met with the addition of three small external capacitors.

“These DC/DC converters are ideal as auxiliary supplies in the harsh rail environment,” says Matthew Dauterive, RECOM's DC/DC Product Manager. "They could also be used in general industry where higher supply voltages are seen, such as in battery management systems, electric forklifts, and IoT sensors."

Parts include a three-year warranty, samples and OEM pricing are available from all authorized dealers or direct from RECOM.
