RECOM sets a new standard in performance and miniaturization.

When board space is limited, a new range of miniature non-isolated step-down DC/DC with integrated inductors can be the perfect solution. RECOM's RPZ series components include economical variants with outputs of 0,5A, 1A, 2A, 3A and 6A and inputs up to 2,3V and 7V, depending on the variant. Precision output voltages are programmable from 0,6V to a fraction of a volt below maximum input. An additional variant, the RPL-5.0 rated at 5A, operates over a wide input range of 2.75-17V and can be programmed for 0,6V-12V output. All DC/DC come in low profile QFN packages with footprints ranging from 2 x 2mm for the 0,5A version to 4 x 6mm for the 6A version. The RPL-5.0 wide input is 3 x 3mm. The components feature thermally enhanced flip-chip technology and high efficiency of up to 92%, enabling operation at high ambient temperatures, for example 125°C for the RPZ-1.0 with derating.

All parts are fully protected against short circuits, overcurrent, overtemperature and input undervoltage, making the RPZ and RPL ranges robust and reliable in the most demanding conditions. Selected variants have a power and enable plug.

Typical applications for DC/DC RPZ and RPL are imaging systems, distributed power architectures, optical modules and portable battery-powered equipment in telecommunications as well as industrial applications.

Matthew Dauterive, MSc., QC/DC Product Manager at RECOM, comments: "“These new integrated DC/DC are a perfect combination of compact design, power and efficiency, with input and output options to suit a wide range of applications.”

Parts include a three-year warranty. Samples and OEM pricing are available from all authorized dealers or directly from RECOM.
