Capacitive, inductive and efficient: Rutronik presents the PSOC™ 4000T with Infineon CAPSENSE™ technology

Rutronik presents the PSOC

Rutronik expands its microcontroller portfolio with the Infineon PSOC™ 4000T. This new product adds advanced HMI capabilities to Infineon’s 0 MHz Arm® Cortex®-M48+-based microcontroller family. The MCUs combine capacitive, inductive, and liquid sensing in a single device. Developers benefit from increased design flexibility, improved power efficiency, and new possibilities for touch and level sensing applications, even in harsh environments. The PSOC™ 4000T series and other Infineon products are available at www.rutronik24.com.

With this expansion of the PSOC™ 4 family, Infineon integrates multi-sensor capabilities into a single microcontroller, including the latest generation of CAPSENSE™, patented inductive sensing, and advanced liquid sensing with AI-based signal processing. The new platform enables capacitive, inductive, and liquid sensing with a single device, making it ideal for modern, compact, and rugged designs. The integration of features such as Hover Touch and Touch-over-Metal reduces hardware complexity, while the fifth generation of CAPSENSE™ with always-on technology reduces power consumption tenfold.

The associated PSOC™ 4000T Multi-Sensor Prototyping Kit, the CY8CPROTO‑040T‑MS, enables rapid and modular evaluation of capacitive, inductive, and contactless sensor technology based on Infineon’s fifth generation CAPSENSE™ technology. Combining a low-power architecture, versatile sensor support, and seamless integration with ModusToolbox™, the kit is ideal for developing energy-efficient HMI and IoT applications. Developers benefit from a flexible prototyping environment that significantly accelerates the validation of innovative user interfaces. The evaluation kit is divided into several daughterboards and a control board: The daughterboards consist of two on-metal touch boards, an FPC for level measurement with container, and a Hover Touch with multiple buttons.
