JANPTX devices meet the specifications of MIL-PRF-19500 and
They support pulses up to 1,5kW
Microchip Technology today announced its JANPTX family JANPTX offers transient voltage suppressor (TVS) devices in non-hermetic plastic packages that meet MIL-PRF-19500 specifications and provide highly reliable protection for aerospace and defense applications. These TVS devices are the first on the market to achieve MIL-PRF-19500 certification in a plastic package, providing engineers with a lightweight and cost-effective solution without compromising the demanding performance requirements of the military environment. The JANPTX product line is available in voltage ranges from 5V to 175V and consists of five versions: JANPTX1N5555UJ, JANPTX1N5558UG, JANPTX1N5629AUJ, JANPTX1N5665AUG, JANPTX1N5907UG, and JANPTX1N5907UJ.
The JANPTX family, which supports pulses up to 1,5 kW and blocking response times of less than 100 picoseconds in internal testing, is designed to help ensure the safety and reliability of sensitive electronic components in demanding environments. These unidirectional, surface-mount TVS devices provide protection against voltage transients such as lightning strikes, electrostatic discharge (ESD), and power spikes.
“Microchip’s JANPTX family sets a new benchmark for military-grade transient protection in the aerospace and defense industries,” said Ronan Dillon, associate director of Microchip’s High Reliability and RF business unit. “The availability of the first TVS devices in MIL-PRF-19500-compliant plastic packages allows engineers to achieve high levels of reliability and performance in a lightweight and cost-effective package.”
JANPTX TVS devices help protect avionics, electrical systems, and other mission-critical applications where low voltage and high reliability are paramount. Their advanced design, which provides protection against switching transients, RF effects, electromagnetic pulses, and lightning strikes, complies with IEC 61000-4-2, IEC 61000-4-4, and IEC 61000-4-5 standards.
