Advantech announces its TCG-OPAL compliant SQFlash 840F and 920F series. The SQF920F/840F series provide great data security through hardware-based AES encryption. These advanced security features comply with NIST (Or.S. National Institute of Standards and Technologies) XNUMX FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standard) rule, listed in the Cryptographic Module Validation Program (CMVP)*. Advantech SATA / PCIe SSD memory drives offer high performance, better durability and greater capacities in applications that handle sensitive data or require greater security.

High level data protection

Many older industrial systems cannot manage adequate security measures. Cybercriminals do not stop evolving, so it is essential to locate secure storage solutions for applications in administrations, finance, health and defense. Agencies in the US and Canada now require storage devices to meet security certifications in an effort to prevent data theft. To this end, the FIPS one hundred and forty-two certification requirements for storage products used in the administration/public sphere will be demanded in 3 years.

FIPS SED (self-encryption drive) certified storage products meet the US federal government's secure storage requirements and are compliant with relevant encryption algorithms, ensuring that the company's internal data handling procedures are maintained. SSDs conform to NIST rules. Certified solutions offer secure data storage in a variety of security-sensitive applications such as infrastructure, healthcare, defense, and finance.

FIPS compliant for SSD with multi-user authentication design
To meet the needs of various applications, the SQF 840F/920F series SSD products provide TCG-OPAL compliant AES-256 encryption engines for advanced self-encryption. This encryption offers control of read and write protection, as well as the most advanced mechanisms on the market for multi-user authentication on the drive and multi-secure zone. These functions can be managed by the DeviceOn/SQ Manager security package that is either free on Linux or built into the BIOS. In addition to this, the firmware is assigned a digital signature with the firmware in order to prevent unauthorized changes to the root of the SSD.

These devices increase stability through a power-on self-test of each and every encryption-related hardware engine. The product also comes with physical tamper protection to prevent data theft from outside intrusions. Ultimately, the SQF 840F/920F is NIST certified and FIPS 140-two Level two compliant, providing a complete and effective security mechanism.
