New models in the TDK-Lambda DRB series offer more power and are available with screw terminals or push-in connectors

TDK Corporation announces the addition of models with three-phase AC input higher power to the series TDK-Lambda DRB of power supplies for DIN rail.

With outputs 24, 48 and 72V, the new products are designed for continuous operation at 480 of 960 W and can deliver up to 720 and 1.440 W, respectively, for a maximum of 7 seconds. This, and a constant current overload function, allows operation with capacitive and inductive loads.

These power supplies are also distinguished by an input current (inrush) very low after initial start-up, reducing “nuisance” shutdowns of input circuit breakers.

The three-phase DRB series can be used in a wide variety of applications, including conventional switch cabinets, independent machinery (stand-alone) and industrial systems, as well as information and communication technology solutions (ICT).

The units, which have an input range from 350 to 575Vac, are presented in a robust metal casing with dimensions of 65mm (width) x 129mm (height) x 159,3mm (depth) for 480 W and XNUMX W models 100 x 129 x 171,9 mm for 960 W supplies. These designs encourage saving space on the DIN rail for other components and help reduce costs. Additionally, they are available screw terminals or connectors push-in for input and output wiring.

The DRB480 and DRB960 models have an operating efficiency of up to 96,3 percent and standby consumption (stand-by) it is located below 2,3W when using the remote on-off (inhibit) function. This results in a reduction in energy use and contributes to minimize carbon footprint (CO2) of the entire system. Lower losses also reduce internal heating, preventing electrolytic capacitors from drying out to prolong service life.

For higher power or redundant systems, front panel DIP switch allows current sharing in droop mode for operation in parallel.

These new power supplies have an adjustment range 22,5 to 29V (24V nominal), 45 to 56V (48V nominal) and 70 to 85V (72V nominal) to support compensation for cable drops, connecting O-ring FETs, or setting non-standard output voltages.

Apart from the two LED indicators, a relay contact DC OK Enables remote monitoring and on/off by applying an external voltage to the inhibit relay contact.

El isolation from input to output is 3.510 Vac, that from input to ground reaches 2.210 Vac and that from output to ground reaches 1.390 Vac. All DRB models have convection cooling and perform at room temperature -25 to +70 °C, with limitation above 55 °C.

The new units have the IEC/EN/UL/CSA 62368-1, 61010-1 and 61010-2-201 certificates and the markings CE/UKCA, in accordance with Low Voltage directives (LV), EMC and RoHS. They comply with the standards EN 55011-B and CISPR11-B for radiated and conducted emissions, EN 61000-3-2 (Class A) for harmonic currents and IEC/EN 61000-6-2 for immunity.
