As a result of the growing popularity of TFT displays in many consumer products, customers expect the same level of user interface sophistication in industrial products. This trend is especially noticeable for the industrial market, where system designers are receiving increased demand for the incorporation of TFT displays into their applications to replace the simple character-based LCD displays they previously used. Human-machine interfaces (HMIs) with TFT can be used in numerous industrial applications, such as data logging and measurement devices, medical devices, machines, electronic payment systems, and even in price-sensitive household appliances.
