Massive incorporation of passive entry systems (PKE) to mid-range vehicles
By Antonio Rojas RFID Product Manager, PREMO Group
Whether we are talking about gasoline, diesel or electric vehicles, we will always need a safe and comfortable opening and closing system. RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) systems have been available on the market since 1983 in two basic types: separate key in the remote and built-in key in the remote (the most common today). PKE technology is considered an evolution of RKE. For most car brands, PKE technology is well known and is commonly used in high-end models. The main advantage of PKE access systems is the opening of the vehicle without physical interaction between the driver and the key fob or the car, as long as it is within a certain radius of action.
