Lithium Ion Batteries. Why are they smart?

It is not the purpose of this work to study all the stages through which the technological development of the battery has passed, suffice it to say that its "leitmotiv" has always been the same: more energy in less volume and better efficiency.
Analyzing Lithium Ion batteries and not others is a direct consequence of its position in the current market; Complexity, Development prospects, Relative novelty, Extensive implementation in the market and Sensitivity in terms of safety, are the characteristics that make them preferable for this study.
