The use of smart and digital products is growing rapidly in line with the advancement of science and technology. This trend towards intelligent development is also being adopted in the fire protection system.
The LAD series, encapsulated power supply for Security and Fire Alarm, distributed in Spain and Portugal by Electronica OLFER, incorporates UPS, battery charger and digital communication functions. With their compact size, they not only reduce system space and design costs, but at the same time improve system reliability.
The LAD series presents two different versions: the basic one (LAD-120/240/360/600) and the version with UART communication (LAD-360/600xU). Both have a low profile (1U) design to meet application requirements for fire protection systems.
TTL basic model (signal only):
It has TTL alarm outputs that allow reporting of correct AC OK power, battery disconnection/polarity reversal, full battery and discharge through external circuits.
- AC OK
- Battery disconnected / polarity reversal
- Low battery
- Charged battery

The following is an external circuit with a direct voltage source V and a current limiting resistor R: (The maximum supply voltage is 50Vdc and the maximum load current is 30mA)

Advanced models with UART communication:
Through UART communication, the power supply can communicate with the MCU (Main Control Board) to read the charging voltage, current, working status and fault protection. Simplifies hardware design and enables intelligent control functions.

Mains Active (Normal Operation): When the mains is working properly, backup equipment (such as alarms, sensors or monitoring systems) is powered through the LAD-360.
Mains disconnected (UPS function): When the mains power is turned off (for example, due to a power failure), the UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) function of the LAD-360 is automatically activated. The LAD-360 switches to the internal battery and supplies power to backup equipment. This ensures that the fire protection system continues to function even during a power outage.

In summary, the LAD-360 provides a reliable solution to maintain the continuous operation of the fire protection system, ensuring safety and early detection of any emergency. Device that you can find on the OLFER Electronics website, which has a wide range of products.
