Faster handling: Keystone's new ultra-thin SMD threaded inserts now available at Rutronik

threaded inserts

Keystone introduces new "Zero-Height" metric threaded inserts for printed circuit boards.

Keystone Electronics has expanded its portfolio of ultra-flat surface mount threaded inserts with the introduction of inch and metric threaded versions. Surface mount inserts are now available in metric (M2.5, M3, M4) or inch (2-56, 4-40, 6-32) threads. With a projection of only 0,3 millimeters above the plate, a particularly flat integration is possible.

Being packaged with adhesive tape and Kapton tape on top make these ROHS compliant products suitable for almost all mechanical and vacuum pick-and-place mounting systems.

Due to their special packaging and design, tin-coated steel threaded inserts can be installed quickly and easily on printed circuit boards. The same technology used for other surface mount components is employed.

In this way, handling is optimized in terms of time. What is also convincing is that this method avoids damage that could previously occur when using conventional methods for threading PCBs.

Threaded inserts, as well as other Keystone products, are available at Rutronik24.
