ROHM has developed a new range of 600V superconnect MOSFETs, the R60xxXNx and R60xxWNx series.
In the data center and industrial equipment sectors, energy demand continues to rise as processing loads increase, driving strong demand for more efficient power supplies to reduce both energy consumption and heat generation. At the same time, as applications become smaller, power circuits must achieve higher power density and greater space savings while delivering higher power output in a limited space.
To meet these requirements, superjunction MOSFETs must offer even lower losses and improved thermal performance, driving the increasingly widespread adoption of surface-mount packages with excellent heat dissipation. Furthermore, from a procurement risk mitigation perspective, multi-source sourcing strategies and alternative suppliers have become essential in recent years, making high compatibility with existing standard products a critical requirement.
The new products—the R60xxXNx and PrestoMOS™ R60xxWNx series—expand the existing package range with the DFN8080-5L (8,0 × 8,0 × 0,85 mm) and TOLL (11,68 × 9,9 × 2,3 mm) surface-mount packages. With their compact, low-profile design and excellent heat dissipation, these packages are ideal for applications requiring space savings and higher power density, such as power supplies for AI servers and industrial equipment.
Regarding its characteristics, the gate threshold voltage (VGS(th)The voltage required to turn on the MOSFET has been set in a range of 3 V to 5 V, commonly used in standard products, allowing it to adapt to a wide variety of operating conditions. Furthermore, the improved admittance characteristics offer greater versatility and lower losses compared to conventional models in the R60xxYNx and PrestoMOS™ R60xxVNx series. The surface-mount packages with a standard footprint ensure excellent versatility while also facilitating replacement in existing power supply circuits and the selection of alternative power sources.
The range comprises 21 models in the high-speed switching R60xxXNx series and 11 models in the PrestoMOS™ R60xxWNx series, which offers class-leading high-speed recovery characteristics*. Users can select the optimal product based on their application needs, from products suitable for designs that prioritize compatibility to those suitable for designs that prioritize lower losses.
Mass production began in stages in June 2026. Online sales have also begun with products in the TOLL package (applicable reference numbers: R6020XNJ2, R6038XNJ2, R6049XNJ2, R6055XNJ2, R6024WNJ2, R6035WNJ2), which can be purchased through online distributors such as DigiKey.
ROHM will continue to expand its range of superconnect MOSFETs and plans to begin series production of 650V products, as well as next-generation products.
