The VISION 2014 exhibition arouses enormous interest among exhibitors

Less than a year after the start of the fair, 75 percent of the exhibition area is already occupied – More space for industrial computers

As of today and 11 months after the start of the event, the first VISION of the new biannual frequency shows very good occupancy: a total of 240 exhibitors have registered for VISION 2014. Approximately 75 percent of the stand area of the pavilion 1 of Messe Stuttgart is already confirmed and firmly occupied. For another 15 percent there are options available. “We hope to surpass the current record of 372 exhibitors for VISION 2014”, says Florian Niethammer, Project Director of the world's leading trade fair specializing in imaging. "The clearly marked objective is to exceed the mark of 400 exhibitors".
In fact, the indicators for VISION 2014, which is held from November 4 to 6, are very good, especially in view of the current market situation in the sector. “Our positive forecast of a five percent increase in sales volume for the German image processing sector for 2013 is solidifying. The VDMA statistics on order intake for industrial image processing records an increase of five percent for orders during the first ten months of 2013 compared to the same period of the previous year. In this sense we have perceived a clear impetus from abroad, especially from the countries of the euro zone”, explains Patrick Schwarzkopf, Head of the VDMA Industrial Image Processing. Parallel to the exhibition part, VISION 2014 will once again show a wide range of framework programs with high added value for visitors. In the first place is the world's most important image processing forum “Industrial VISION Days”. All these events will once again mark important impulses for visitors. All this is guaranteed under the responsibility of the VDMA Industrial Image Processing which is responsible for the contents. Whoever is looking for very specific production solutions, who wants to know what the current "State of the Art" is in the sector or who is new to information about the possibilities offered by image processing, will find there experts who will transmit the necessary knowledge.
The special exhibition "International Image Processing Standards", organized in cooperation with the Automated Image Processing Association (AIA), the European Machine Vision Association (EMVA) and the Japan Industrial Imaging Association (JIIA), offers guidance on the very large and complex subject of standardization. It is here that the results of global efforts to standardize the imaging industry are presented and discussed. It is an extraordinary platform with expert knowledge on a subject that makes image processing technology even more user friendly.
VISION 2014 will clearly devote more space to the topic of industrial computers (PCI). For the first time there will be a group stand for PCI so that visitors can find out in detail and concretely.
“Research meets industry” is the motto of the VDMA Technology Days. Institutes and universities will present within the framework of a special exhibition the results of their research projects that have a high potential for users and will show the paths towards capturing new markets. The spectrum ranges from new 3D technologies, through innovative methods for object classification or extremely fast image processing algorithms to very specific applications.
The "VISION Award", which is awarded for the 2014st time in 21, is the meter for the innovation strength of the image processing industry. All applications with a high technological demand, new applications and their degree of innovation, as well as the importance of the development for the image processing industry and the end user, are deserving of the award.
Some 2014 exhibitors are expected for VISION 400, including market leaders such as Allied Vision Technologies, Basler, Baumer Optronic, Framos, IDS Imaging Development, ISRA Vision, Keyence, MaxxVision, MVTec Software, Omron, Stemmer Imaging and Teledyne Dalsa.
