Keysight Technologies Introduces a Next-Generation High-Performance Audio Analyzer Equipped with High-Bandwidth and Voice Quality Analysis Options

SANTA ROSA, California – September 15, 2014 – Keysight Technologies, Inc. today introduced the U8903B High-Performance Audio Analyzer, the next generation of the U8903A. The U8903B is extremely flexible, incorporating configurable options such as voice quality measurements, expandable bandwidth, and digital audio interfaces, allowing engineers to accurately test wireless communications audio applications, components, and integrated circuits. (CI).

The U8903B includes the Objective Perceived Listening Quality Assessment (POLQA) defined by the ITU-T standard and its predecessor, the Perceived Speech Quality Assessment (PESQ), which enable measurements across the audio bandwidth. common used by telephone networks. With POLQA, super-wideband voice signals up to 14.000 Hz can be measured. Equipped with POLQA and PESQ, the U8903B is ideal for testing 3G, 4G/LTE and Voice over IP telephones and network equipment, as well as security applications. HD voice tests.

For component and IC testing, the U8903B is equipped with a wide-bandwidth option that pushes the upper limit of measurement bandwidth down to 1,5 MHz with 24-bit resolution and Fast Fourier Transform (FFT). ) out of a million points.

This expanded bandwidth allows the audio analyzer to maintain high accuracy, even when monitoring Class D amplifiers or power supplies, which often produce signal peaks that far exceed the bandwidth limit of conventional audio analyzers ( 100kHz or less). The U8903B also offers AES3/SPDIF and DSI formats for testing and validating digital audio and consumer electronics ICs.

The U8903B gives test engineers the choice of two, four, or eight channels, and enables accurate distortion measurements with an improved residual THD+N of less than –110 dB, performance available on all eight channels. The test sequence control feature automates testing by allowing users to configure measurement types and define pass and fail decisions for each test parameter. This new feature saves time and eliminates the need to write complicated code during product development.

“The U8903B is precise and configurable, and packed with many features,” explains Ee Huei Sin, Vice President of Keysight's General Purpose Electronic Measurement Division. "With this audio analyzer, Keysight once again offers engineers and technicians a high-performance tool."
