Introduction of the 100GHz real-time Oscilloscope that marks a milestone in Research and Development

Setup Electrónica announces the new Teledyne LeCroy LabMaster 10-100Zi 100 GHz, 240 GS/s oscilloscope that advances the Development of Next Generation Communications systems.

Teledyne LeCroy introduces the LabMaster 100-10Zi 100GHz Real-Time Oscilloscope.

With this introduction Teledyne LeCroy continues to demonstrate its strong commitment to leadership in the high-end oscilloscope market by increasing real-time bandwidth and sampling rates to 100GHz and 240Gs/s. The 100GHz technology was initially advertised and demonstrated in July 2013, and has been officially unveiled at DesignCon, OFC, and ECOC 2014.

This industry-leading technology, now incorporated into the LabMaster 100-10Zi 100GHz oscilloscope, is key to analyzing and understanding the faster phenomena found in R&D labs where engineers and scientists work on the next generation of data processing systems. communications, high-bandwidth electrical components, basic scientific research-.

The LabMAster 10-100Zi was recently used by Alcatel-Lucent to demonstrate the higher bandwidth of an optical coherent receiver capable of detecting QPSK signals at 160Gbaud.

“As we investigate new ways to increase the amount of data we can carry in future optical communications networks, we have set a record with a prototype 160-Gbaud QPSK system. The 100GHz bandwidth, 240Gs/s oscilloscope has been key in building this system,” says Dr. Peter Winzer of Bell Labs, the industrial research arm of Alcatel-Lucent. “We are excited to see that Teledyne LeCroy has put oscilloscope technology where its bandwidth is no longer a limiting factor in our research, it already exceeds the bandwidth of the transmitter and the optical-electric converter in the receiver.”

The LabMaster 10-100Zi is the new module of the high performance LabMaster 10Zi Series modular oscilloscope. LabMAster 10Zi is a flexible, modular platform that allows users to build oscilloscopes with high-speed channels, even when only one or two channels are in the basic model.

LabMaster Zi oscilloscopes consist of a single LabMaster Master Control Module (MCM-Zi) that contains the display, control, and ChannelSync clock distribution architecture; all controlled by a powerful server type CPU. Users can add up to 20 acquisition modules, including the LabMaster 10-100Zi, to build an oscilloscope with up to 80 channels at 36GHz, twenty channels at 100GHz, or any combination in between.
