Microchip Technology Adds ECC20x and SHA10x Family Secure Authentication ICs to its TrustFLEX Platform

CryptoAuthentication Integrated Circuits Pre-configured help reduce development time and minimize design costs

Providing secure keys is vital to protect sensitive keys from tampering attempts and malicious external attacks. Secure key storage is critical in consumer, industrial, data center, and medical applications, but the process of developing and documenting secure key provisioning can be complex and expensive. Microchip Technology has added ECC204, SHA104 and SHA105 CryptoAuthentication ICs to your catalog TrustFLEX, made up of devices, services and tools, in order to facilitate access to secure keys and accelerate the development of prototypes.

ECC20x and SHA10x ICs are hardware-based secure storage devices that have been designed to hide secret keys from unauthorized attacks. The ECC204, SHA104 and SHA105 integrated circuits, which belong to the TrustFLEX platform, already incorporate defined use cases, customizable cryptographic keys and code examples to streamline the development process.

The ECC20x and SHA10x devices meet the demanding requirements for secure key storage according to the JIL (Joint Interpretation Library) common criteria and have been certified according to NIST's ESV (Entropy Source Validation) and CAVP (Cryptographic Algorithm Validation Program) in compliance with the FIPS standard (Federal Information Processing Standard). Secure IC families are designed to implement trusted authentication that protects the confidentiality, integrity and authenticity of data, as well as communications, in a wide variety of systems and applications.

Microchip CryptoAuthentication ICs are small, low-power devices designed to be compatible with any microprocessor or microcontroller. They provide flexible solutions to protect medical devices, industrial devices, battery-powered equipment and disposable applications. Development tools

ECC20x and SHA10x ICs are supported by Trust Platform Design Suite from Microchip, which provides code samples and learning materials and enables the secure transfer of credentials to better take advantage of Microchip's secure key provisioning services. The devices are also supported by MPLAB® X Integrated Development Environment (IDE), product-specific evaluation cards, and the CryptoAuthLib library.
