Harwin expands its family of 1,27mm pitch connectors with new IDC devices

Strong increase in the stock of the Archer range with a competitive price and high quality

Harwin is expanding its popular 50mm pitch Archer M1,27 range by adding new IDC connectors. The Archer family is distinguished in three aspects: its price, with more profitable devices with several percentage points of advantage over its competitors; instant availability, since there is a large stock of devices for immediate shipment to Harwin and its distribution channel; in addition to its reliability and high quality.

The new double row Archer connectors added to the existing IDC range are 12, 14 and 16 position connectors. Its configurations include board-mounted ejector headers in through-hole and SMT format, IDC DIP male transition socket connectors, and IDC female flat cable connectors.

Surface mount devices are packaged on tape and reel to facilitate automatic placement.

The main advantages of the Archer family are its cost-effectiveness and fast termination that minimize the cost of installation and ensure cable retention thanks to the positive blocking of the connected pair. The devices are resistant from a mechanical point of view and have a high contact density.

Vera Wijtvliet, Product Manager, comments: “Archer connectors are designed to provide a simple and inexpensive connection between printed circuit boards that require a significant number of interconnects, as well as a fast and secure connection method.

Its applications are found in numerous markets, from consumer electronics to industry, instrumentation and control systems.

An example would be instrumentation for maritime navigation, where it is necessary to combine good reliability with low cost and high connection density”.
