Weidmüller WPD distribution blocks

The safe and efficient way to distribute electrical power. – Optimized distribution blocks ensure greater comfort and save space. – In addition to the modules that are approved to IEC 60947-7-1, Weidmüller offers variants that comply with UL 1059 for universal applications.

Weidmüller's new WPD distribution block series allows users to safely and efficiently distribute power. Thanks to these new distribution blocks, energy is distributed to machinery and plants in a particularly safe and flexible way, while saving space. There is also a sub-distribution block and various distribution blocks in phases. The allowed voltages of up to 1.000 V AC or 1.500 V DC, as well as the high currents between 101 A and 353 A, make it possible to qualify the design of the distribution blocks as high performance. Thanks to its values of 1.500 V DC or 353 A, the WPD 109 version is suitable for photovoltaic systems.

Normally, power supplied to plants and machinery must be redistributed to power other equipment such as motors. Naturally, this process should be as safe and efficient as possible. However, the demands placed on the distribution blocks continue to increase due to the use of increasingly large cable sections and the reduction of space in the control cabinet. Weidmüller's new WPD distribution blocks take these requirements into account and are used in all situations where power is supplied and distributed. The new WPD distribution blocks allow users to implement a fast and efficient power supply that achieves space savings, something that is also achieved thanks to a clear and easy-to-use design. In addition to the modules certified according to IEC 60947-7-1, Weidmüller also has variants that meet the requirements of UL 1059 for universal applications. Weidmüller offers its new WPD distribution blocks in a wide range of combinations. For example, the multiphase block allows for a wide variety of options. Extensions can be created by combining modules or forming bridges.

All WPD distribution blocks have a compact design, which saves space, despite its extensive technical features; and they are incredibly easy to use. Thanks to their unique stepped shape and the offset position of the screw heads, WPD distribution blocks can be conveniently and safely connected to plant equipment or confined spaces with limited space, regardless of the selected level.

WPD distribution blocks offer complete safety and have a self-extinguishing, halogen-free plastic housing with a flammability rating of V0 according to UL 94 specifications. WPD distribution blocks also meet established contact safety requirements in the EN 50274 standard and have a short-circuit resistance rating that complies with the strict SCCR standard. Its practical design and compatibility with DIN TS 35 rail, according to EN 60715 and EN 50022 standards, favor installation, even in difficult conditions.

The distribution blocks, which respond to a careful design, use highly visible signaling labels to achieve a clear identification of the equipment, which guarantees the order and safety of the control cabinet.

All WPD distribution blocks admit a nominal voltage of 690 V AC or 1.000 V AC and 600 V DC, 1.000 V DC or 1.500 V DC. The 1.500 V DC variants are particularly suitable for photovoltaic systems. The following modules or series from one to three poles are available: 1) WPD 100 sub-distribution block with nominal current of 100 A. 2) Phase distribution blocks with nominal current of 101 A: WPD 104 (single pole), WPD 204 (two poles) and WPD 304 (three poles). 3) Phase distribution blocks with nominal current of 125 A: WPD 105 (single pole), WPD 205 (two poles) and WPD 305 (three poles). 4) Single-phase distribution blocks WPD 106 with a nominal current of 160 A, WPD 107 with a nominal current of 232 A, WPD 108 with a nominal current of 250 A and WPD 109 with a nominal current of 353 A.
