In our electronics magazine, MEAN WELL introduces the new OWA-67E series IP90 waterproof power supply.
Most power supplies on the market have a very low degree of protection against dust and no degree against water protection (IP20 . IP30). The OWA-90E series of power supplies offers a high degree of protection against dust and water (IP67) that protects them against any dirt and allows them to be immersed in water up to a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes.
With this new series MEAN WELL offers a standard solution for outdoor applications such as automatic lawn mowers (automatic robotic lawnmowers), and any equipment for outdoor use that needs protection against extreme environments. In addition, this equipment is class II, it does not need a ground connection thanks to its double insulation design, so it helps to be able to connect it to any network. There are 9 different models with outputs of 12Vdc, 15Vdc, 20Vdc, 24Vdc, 30Vdc, 36Vdc, 42Vdc, 48Vdc and 54Vdc.
With a power of 90W and its protection against overload with constant current limitation, it allows us to cover many applications, even to charge batteries. In addition, this equipment has been approved under the regulations for the use of residential equipment EN60335-1 and EN61558-2-16 (except the 42, 48 and 54Vdc models), which facilitates the approval of the final product.
They are made of a material that is resistant to sun exposure and self-extinguishing according to UL 94V-0 flame retardant, thus guaranteeing your safety. The no-load consumption is less than 0,15W and they have an efficiency of up to 91%, which reduces electricity consumption and helps reduce CO2 emissions. There are options with different waterproof output connectors to facilitate integration with any equipment. Some of the most notable features are:
